Mechanical Air Filters
Air filters are a great way to remove most large particles from the air, such as dust, pollen, and other such potential allergens. Media air cleaners are special high-capacity types that do not have to be changed as often. Because larger particles tend to settle out of the air before they can be filtered, some clients may prefer additional filtration via electronic air cleaners which can “attract” large and small particles. However, one of the best ways to clean the air is with another special type of mechanical air filter: a high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter. HEPA filters can reach 0.003 microns (as compared to 0.01 microns from electronic air cleaners). For more information about indoor air quality or sterile rooms, please click here.
