Carrier Repair for Both Air-cooled and Water-cooled Carrier® Chillers.
Carrier repair and service is something that we take seriously. We are certified installers and servicers for all Carrier® scroll, screw, variable speed screw and centrifugal chillers.
Carrier repair starts with a correct understanding of the type of chiller to be repaired or serviced. This includes air-cooled or water-cooled chillers. In these categories, there are different compressor types as previously mentioned.
Knowing your Carrier® chiller type and model number helps to make the service call a better experience for you and your team.
Air-Cooled Carrier Repair for Chillers
Carrier® air-cooled chillers generally come in sizes from 10 ton to 500 ton capacities. They operate as either a screw type or scroll type. The screw type compressor is the most popular type and seems to be increasing in new installations each year. Refrigerant options come in both R-410A for the scroll type or R-134a for the screw type compressor.
Air-cooled Carrier repair and service begins with diagnosis and listening to the people that use the chiller daily or with greater frequency. Listening to our customer about specific behavior patterns, helps us to better understand the best course for repairing your air-cooled chiller. We work hard to restore factory performance with the least amount of costs involved.
Many of the Carrier® air-cooled chillers that are in service today are from their Aqua Series of chillers, including the AquaSnap® and AquaForce® chillers. Both have great reliability and are designed for all types of commercial applications.
These models include the 30RAN, 30RAP, 30RB, 30XV, 30XB, 30XBP and many others in this series.
Some of these installations include variable speed drives to control fan speed for better overall efficiency and performance. We understand how these variable speed drives operate for troubleshooting problems and is part of our service call when required.
Finally, some of the Carrier® models are variable speed screw chiller designed to maximize efficiency, space and sound requirements. These can come in a smaller footprint to aid in overall room requirements, replacing older, larger units in many cases.
Our goal is to provide you as our customer a complete understanding of how-to best repair or service your Carrier® air-cooled chiller. Our factory trained and certified installers and servicers will get you back up and running as soon as possible with the least amount of cost.
Water-Cooled Carrier Repair for Chillers
Carrier® water-cooled chillers generally come in sizes from 16 ton to 5,500 ton capacities. They operate as screw, scroll, variable speed screw and centrifugal types. Refrigerant options come in R-410A and R-1233 zd(E) (scroll types) or R-134a for screw and centrifugal type compressors.
Water-cooled Carrier repair and service begins with diagnosis and listening to the people that use the chiller daily or with great frequency. Listening to our customer about what the 'behavior' patterns have been for the chiller helps us to better understand the best course for repairing your chiller. We work hard to restore factory performance with the least amount of costs involved.
Many of the Carrier® water-cooled chillers that are in service today are from the Aqua Series of chillers, including the AquaEdge®, AquaForce® and AquaSnap® chillers. All are designed for either replacement or new commercial construction applications depending on the needs and requirements.
These plants include the 17DA, 19DK, 19DV, 19XR, 23XRV, 30HX, 30MP, 30XW and many others in this series.
Some of these installations include semi-hermetic sealed compressor motors for better reliability and performance. Again, when you are choosing who you want to come and repair or service your chiller, trust factory certified professionals to do the job right the first time.
Our main goal is to provide you as our customer a complete understanding of how-to best repair or service your Carrier® water-cooled chiller. Our certified installers and servicers will get you back up and running as soon as possible with the least amount of cost.

Routine Carrier® Chiller Maintenance Allows for Optimal Heat Transfer Efficiency
Your Carrier® commercial chiller relies on heat transfer efficiency to perform its duty. Heat transfer is the process of removing heat from the chiller and then disposing it outside of the unit. This applies to all the parts of the equipment, especially its refrigeration circuitry.
In short, a chiller's heat transfer efficiency depends on maintenance schedules. Ongoing maintenance. Here is a quick list of best practice items to add to your schedule:
- Condenser Coils: Inspection of condenser coils includes the cleaning of these coils. Heat transfer through these coils is critical. Routine cleaning of the coils includes removing and debris, dirt and other buildups that may clog and reduce free air flow.
- Refrigerant Charge: Proper refrigerant levels are also especially important for your Carrier® chiller to maintain its cooling quotient. Maintaining refrigerant charge will help your chiller reduce energy usage and cooling costs by up to 10%. Contact us today to have us come out and level up your refrigerant levels if you notice more energy consumption.
The same holds true if you are noticing that your Carrier® chiller is working harder than normal to accomplish the same tasks. These tasks are all part of our Carrier repair and service schedule that we offer. - Condenser Water: For water-cooled chillers, condenser water loops used with cooling towers need to maintain the system designed amount of water flow. If the water loop becomes contaminated with debris, sand, corrosion, scaling and other foreign materials, this will slow water flow. A reduced amount of water flow in the loop can impact the chiller's operating efficiency.
With regular commercial chiller maintenance, you can keep these issues from arising. At the very least, this includes clearing clogs in condenser tubes and brushing them at least once a year.
Regular Maintenance Keeps Your Carrier Repair Bills Lower
At the end of the day, your Carrier® chiller operates as part of a rather complex HVAC-R system. Cooling tower systems that are tied into a water-cooled Carrier® chiller, have even greater complexity and require better system monitoring to reduce energy consumption.
Therefore, when we evaluate a Carrier® chiller and its system performance, we are also including these other components and their power consumption. These components include the compressor, cooling tower fans, pumps, etc. to determine kW/ton efficiency. Learn more about the cost of a chiller service call here.
An Energy-Efficient Carrier® Chiller Produces Fewer Greenhouse Gases
Optimizing the overall chiller plant should be performed regularly to reduce energy consumption and reduce greenhouse gases. This process takes a close look at adjusting chilled water set points, sequencing and load balancing other chillers in process, peak demand management, water loop management, etc.
These items require data and analysis of that data for the best optimization. We understand system optimization and can help you get your Carrier® chiller plant to perform to its utmost efficiency.
